Vicky Pattison –  ‘Going blonde and extensions gave me alopcia’

Former Geordie Shore Star and TV personality Vicky Pattison said that ‘bleaching her hair blonde and years of extensions has made her thin due to traction alopecia and hence why I am at the British Hair Clinic’.

Vicky is the latest celebrity to visit the British Hair Clinic in Essex and seek treatment from celebrity hair transplant surgeon Dr Zabeeh. Vicky accompanied her newlywed husband Ercan Ramadan who has been a regular at the British Hair Clinic for a number of years.

Dr Zabeeh explained that ‘traction alopecia is a type of hair loss caused by a consistent pulling force being applied to the hair. If the pulling force is present for a long time (months or years) then this can permanently damage the muscles that support the pulled hair follicles causing the hair to thin and fall out’.

Dr Zabeeh added that ‘In Vickys case the damage is mild to moderate which means that with non-surgical treatments like PRP, some of the damage can be repaired. PRP treatment stands for Platelet Rich Plasma where a small amount blood is extracted from a patient’s arm, spun and separated with the plasma layer extracted and injected into the scalp. The PRP contains growth factors from the blood taken from Vicky which will help strengthen the damaged hair follicles. She will need two to three sessions before improvements in hair quality can be seen’.

Vicky explained how ‘going blonde was a bad idea and using hair extensions had left her with traction alopecia’. She also added that she had been meaning to have PRP for a long time as husband Ercan has PRP treatment regularly to boost har.
